Bonsai Mammal (AKA Jimmy Harry) is a Golden Globe winning songwriter and composer who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. Harry has worked with artists such as Madonna, Pink, Felix Jaehn, Robin Schultz, Diplo, Kelly Clarkson, Weezer, RuPaul, Kylie Minogue, Oh Land. Peaches, Brett Dennen and The Dirty Heads. Recognized at the 2012 Golden Globes by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, he won “Best Original Song” with Madonna and Julie Frost for the song “Masterpiece”. In 2010 his production of Pink’s “Sober” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female Vocal Performance, and he also wrote and produced “Funhouse”, the title track of her release nominated in the category “Best Pop Album”.

Harry’s breakthrough as a writer/producer was RuPaul’s iconic song “Supermodel.” Harry met RuPaul at a theatre in Atlanta, where he was composing songs for a musical version of Lee Breuer’s The Shaggy Dog Animation. Harry was in the process of casting the production and while he was on a walk to the theatre he saw a poster that said “RUPAUL IS STARRBOOTY” featuring a picture of RuPaul with a mohawk, miniskirt and army boots. Intrigued, he inquired at the theatre if it would be possible to set up an audition. RuPaul was then cast in the show, which sparked a creative relationship that would later produce the majority of the songs on RuPaul’s debut album Supermodel Of The World. Following the success of “Supermodel”, Harry began writing and producing songs for other artists.

In 2017 Harry began making music under the name Bonsai Mammal and has released several songs, an EP, and remixes. Bonsai Mammal recently signed a multi-song deal with Armada Records. The first release in January 2021 was a new version of “Supermodel” featuring hyperpop chanteuse LIZ. On July 30th, 2021, Armada released “Surrender” featuring Mark Johns (Glitch Mob, Gnash, Lemaitre).
